Alten Construction, recently welcomed three new team members: Monica Zeidan as project engineer, Manny Urteaga as senior project manager and Simon Chiu as estimator.
Zeidan joins Alten with a background in drafting and designing site land development plans, as well as erosion and sedimentation control expertise, stormwater management and utility design and construction. Most recently, Zeidan was a design engineer for Adobe Associates and holds a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering from California State University, Sacramento.
In her new role as project engineer, Zeidan will be tasked with assisting team members in planning, coordinating and administration on current projects to ensure work is completed on time and within budget, all while maintaining Alten’s highest quality standards.
Urteaga has over 23 years of experience in public works, commercial and private projects and joins Alten Construction as a senior project manager. He started his construction career with Ghilotti Brothers Construction and has worked with several other well-known public works construction companies in the Bay Area. Urteaga has a bachelor’s of science degree in construction management and is certified in Primavera P3/P6 and Microsoft Project Scheduling, as well as Cal-OSHA Safety Compliance Management.
As senior project manager, Urteaga will monitor job performance and budget targets, review and update project schedule, oversee and collaborate the activities of the project team to meet tight deadlines and develop customer relationships, among other duties.
Simon Chiu is an organized construction professional joining the team as an estimator. With over 15 years of experience in managing and estimating construction projects, including multi-family housing and public work projects, Chiu will be responsible for all aspects of estimating projects in conjunction with Alten’s chief estimator. He has a bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University, as well as a degree in construction management from UC Berkeley Extension.
