Alten Construction, a full-service San Francisco Bay Area commercial construction company, recently celebrated the completion of its Napa Valley Transportation Authority (NVTA) project.
In 2022, Alten Construction broke ground on the $32 million project, which included four new buildings: a 9,920-square-foot operations building, an 18,424-square-foot maintenance building, a 3,160-square-foot wash building and a 224-square-foot trash enclosure.
Additionally, the new state-of-the-art maintenance facility now includes electric vehicle charging stations to accommodate the arrival of its electric bus fleet. Alten Construction also facilitated site grading and civil improvements, landscaping and irrigation, underground utilities and architectural improvements, among other items.
“The future of transit in Napa Valley looks especially bright with the addition of this modern new maintenance facility, built in partnership with Alten Construction,” said Kate Miller, executive director for NVTA.
On Friday, April 12, the NVTA hosted a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new maintenance facility. During the event, attendees enjoyed brunch, as well as a tour.
Located at 96 and 101 Sheehy Court in Napa, the NVTA serves as the Congestion Management Agency for Napa County and is responsible for programming state and federal funds for local projects. A Joint Powers Authority, NVTA handles the county's short- and long-term regional transportation planning, working closely with its local, regional, state and federal partners to improve Napa County's streets, highways, bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
