Bart R-Line North

In 2011, Alten Construction worked alongside the San Francisco Bay Area Transit District and AECOM on the Earthquake Safety and Aerial Structures Program for R-Line North in the East Bay. Along an eight-mile stretch of existing track through four different cities, Alten Construction added seismic reinforcement and concrete at the base of existing piers and at upper bent caps. As part of this project, new structural columns were also added nearby the main power feed and distribution center for the entire BART track. Additionally, new walkway paths and landscaping were placed throughout the eight-mile stretch.
