Built in 1901, the Goodman Library - California's longest operating library, was severely damaged in the 2014 Napa earthquake.
Alten Construction worked with design team, Napa Design Partners and ZFA Structural EngineersĀ to complete the more than $1.7 million restoration project. Alten Construction worked alongside Rainbow Water-proofing and Restoration Co. to disassemble and reconstructed a partially collapsed stone entry tower and damaged areas of the structural stone walls. The project also included the fabrication and installation of a steel frame structure secured inside the rebuilt tower.
In 2018, Alten Construction won the prestigious Historic Project of the Year Award for their work on restoring the beautiful and historic Goodman Library.
