Alten Construction collaborated with the Oakland Unified School District and S Meek Architecture to construct a new two-story cafeteria and classroom building in Oakland as ADco/Turner Group/Alten Construction Joint Venture. The project consisted of demolishing an existing, one-story building and preparing the site to construct the new, two-story building, which contained a kitchen and dining area, new restrooms and seven classrooms. The new structure included extensive aluminum storefronts, plaster, exterior sunshades, a fire sprinkler system, a mechanical system with a building management system, a security system, and new irrigation and planting.
