Alten Construction teamed up with the East Bay Zoological Society and Noll & Tam Architects to build a new two-story veterinary hospital for the Oakland Zoo. The hospital includes office spaces, laboratory spaces, vet treatment areas, support areas, a necropsy area, animal holding areas, and a visitor lobby. Outside the hospital, Alten Construction modified the site drainage, placed retaining walls and paved a new vehicular access road. During construction, Alten Construction coordinated with the contractor who installed solar panels on the roof of the new hospital. This project is LEED Gold certified.
