From 2014 to 2015, Alten Construction teamed with Alameda County General Services Agency and Group 4 Architecture Research + Planning, Inc. to expand San Lorenzo's existing library, doubling its size and creating a cutting edge facility for the community of San Lorenzo. Designed by Group 4 Architecture to meet LEED Silver certification requirements, the new San Lorenzo Library has extensive natural light with multiple storefront windows and skylights, mechanical and lighting systems controls and FSC cabinetry and wood doors. During Construction, Alten Construction diverted over 90% of construction debris from landfills and implemented a thorough indoor air quality control plan. This project is San Lorenzo's first green building.
